Hi, Can anyone tell me a setting in any processor in SF5 which will alleviate a problem I have had when recording children singing? I used pop shields, but did not notice one or two rogue "b" "p" pops until I came to editing. Anyone know a way to minimise the problem after the event? Thanks Dave |

Pops tend to be very low frequencies, and voices, especially childrens' voices, tend to be medium and higher frequencies. Try using EQ to cut bans below 200Hz or so with a gentle roll-off at the upper end of that range. Pops also tend to be loud for short durations. These peaks can be minimized somewhat with dynamics (compression). You can zoom in on just the section of the recording with the pop, select it, and apply either of these effects to just that section. Between the two you should be able to correct it some. |
