Subject:Pop's and High End Clicks Are Being Added To My Music By Acid 3.0 HELP!!!

I'm a new user to ACID and have a Compaq Presario 7478 Pentium 400+ system w/40 gb hd, 64mg ram, DVD and CD-RW Rom drive. Also - the power supply is filtered. I'm using ACID 3.0 to put together sounds and music. These are clean sounds / tunes (no pops, clicks, etc.). After I use ACID 3.0 and listen -- they're now popping and clicking every 5-10 seconds. I recorded a CD from ACID 3.0 with one of these songs and same thing -- full of pops and clicks. Sounds like you're listening to an old record that needs to be cleaned. So somehow this software is putting in this junk. How do I get rid of it? Any suggestions?

64 megs of ram could be the problem...
More memory would be a benefit to your system.

First thing, 64 Megs of ram is really not enough. 128 Megs is the least you should have (256 recommended).
Do you hear the pops and clicks when you listen to the music on your PC AFTER you put them through Acid, but BEFORE you burn them. If not, it's probably during the actual burn that the clicks get added.
Defrag, close unneccesary apps (ctrl, alt + del) and shut down screen-savers and anti-virus software. Actually, this should also be done BEFORE working in Acid (especially with 64 megs).

In addition to what everyone's said, I practically guarantee you'll notice a performance difference if you upgrade your RAM. 64 is just so skimpy nowadays. Like MyST said, I'd also recommend 256 MB or more.
