The screen management shorcut of F11 to either show or hide the dockable windows. Just like in vegas video 3. I feel it would add to my workflow very well. I use the contour shuttle pro and have F11 as one of my shorcut keys in VV3. Thankyou.

I'm a newbie at this SF stuff so maybe these reqeusts are not worth much, but here they are:

1. The ablitiy to reset the clip indicator when playing back thru a Preview function.

2. "Go To Next Marker", "Go to End" and "Go To Start" toolbar icon.

3. A box to enter numeric settings in addition to slide controls (eg "Normalize To" setting and "Threshold" and "Ratio" in the "Graphic Dynamics".

You can step through the markers with Ctrl-left&right arrows.

The buttons that look like triangles with a vertical line at the point move to the beginning and end of the file.

I'll second the numeric entry fields! Especially in the process/volume slider, which is incredibly touchy! I can drag the mouse at 1/10 of a snail's pace and watch it change in 0.01dB increments, then suddenly jump 8dB. I have to resort to using the up & down arrow keys, which takes forever. Very frustrating, and it's been this way since i started using SF XP 4

You drag with a much higher precision if you simultaneously hold down your right mouse button as you drag, Chienworks. And it has been in since SF 4... :)

also a convention in SF stuff is holding the ctrl button while dragging a slider. This makes the increments much smaller.

BTW, here's a stupid non hip-lingo question I've always wanted to ask:

what does Bump mean?

In other words "bumping" or I guess "moving","shuffling" a older post to a more recent spot to be seen! Plus I didn't want to right the same explanation over again. I hope they add this [F11]. I picked up the phrase "bump" while surfing around. Got a better one?

So why is this dragging problem only in the process/volume slider and not anywhere else? I've seen this in XP 4, XP 4.5, 5.0, 5.0 Studio, and 6.0 Beta, installed on at least a dozen different PCs. Weird!

Again, SHTUNOT, I'll second an opinion of yours.
I was just experimenting with the 6.0 Beta and had set up a great
workspace with the meters, plugin chainer, and the sound file all placed
wondefully, but I would love the ability to hide the dockable windows
while getting some work done. One press of F11 would be great!!!

Also, the ability to drag wav windows to the other monitor(in a dual monitor setup) would be great! Thanks, Kevin

No problem to span dual monitors. This trick here is to drag the Soundforge interface across both monitors before you open your files. I do it all the time and the large workspace is wicked!

Thanks,CuzinB I have had this setup for two months now and didn't think to stretch apps across both screens. Works great!

Again please push to have the F11 shortcut added by the release date. The 32bit float button STILL unchecks itself after everytime I close SF6 beta and reopen it. Problem? Yes/No?

F11 behavior will be included in the 6.0a update. And which button are you talking about? The pref?

Thankyou for adding the feature!

The button that I was talking about was in...options>preferences>file>Use 32bit(IEEE Float)temporary file. I'm not sure if this was fixed for the official release but for the last PB that was out it still "unchecked itself" after I would close out of SF6 and reopen it. What benefits[if any]does having this checked off before I start a session? Not having it checked off will have a negative effect on working on my files?

Since DOA burning wasn't included in SF6 and was in VV3;is having only TAO enough to be considered "red book audio" but long form? I don't think I'm making any sense here but I thought that redbook audio was just a burnt 16bit 44.1 audio file. Whats the difference in DAO and TAO besides the time it takes to "manually" setup and burn each individual audio track? Why was it thought of as "not necessary" to include in a "MASTERING" program such as SF6? [I own VV3.0a so its not a huge issue but I don't understand why I have to leave SF to finish my work in vegas.] Later.

The pref bug was found and will be fixed in 6.0a.

Yes, redbook essentially means, "it has to be in this format if you want it to play in your CD player." The redbook standard just specifies the details of format, encoding, metadata, etc., not a particular burn method.

Adding TAO to Sound Forge was never meant to be a replacement for DAO capable applications, though it appeared that way since we discontinued CD Architect around the same time. While we feel that the Vegas environment offers a lot more flexibility for DAO tasks, we will consider DAO in future versions of Sound Forge.
