Subject:saving without video

has anybody found a way to save out without video, then reimporting it when I openproject to carry on working, its just that it takes an age every time I save with embedded media, when it includes the video? the tech guys say there isnt a way, but any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

You ought to be able to render to any audio-only format easily. Simply choose .wav (preferred format) when you render your project. The resulting file will contain just the audio without the video. Keep in mind though that this file will no longer have the video! So if at some point you still want the video attached, you'll have to import your finished audio file back into the original video file somehow.
