Hello, Are there any plans to allow disk at once burning in Sound Forge 6.x? Vegas 3.0 has this (which seems kinda odd), I would think your audio editor / mastering software would also. Especially for Pro's who would want to make Disk at once Master CD for duplication. This is the only wish I have with your software. I am a very happy registered user of ACID 3.0 and Vegas 3.0. Your products have been the most stable of all I have tried or owned. Regards, Rich Lara |

Who is making the decisions at SF? Does this person understand the needs of audio people? |

I don't know who is to blame! But please believe me I put in a LOT of bitch time about adding the DAO feature to Sound Forge. But I am only one person. I always tell people on this forum that if you want a feature ASK Sonic Foundry for IT! That is the ONLY they will hear you. DAO is out on Sound Forge 6.0. George Ware |

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks DAO is a necessity. Samplitude and Wavelab have it. Oh well,I guess I will have to "work around" this. I'm not sure why I would purchase SoundForge 6.0. Getting one of the others seems to make more sense. I can use Soundforge XP for my basic needs. Very strange how Sonic Foundry set this up (why Vegas Video for DAO?) Regards, Rich |

Very strange how Sonic Foundry set this up (why Vegas Video for DAO?)- To help in their sales!!! With very little of a audio update to VV3 NOT having it would have made it look really stupid. Later. |

I've looked at Samplitude. They have a mastering version which I believe operates like a mastering 4 track. It seems quite tempting, but the upgrade cost to SF 6 and Vegas 3 wouldn't be much different. Maybe that is what Sonic Foundry is counting on. I agree that it's inconvenient (and strange to my thinking) to track in Vegas, master in SF, and then go back to Vegas to burn the CD. I suppose they wanted to get a lot of video buyers, and that's understandable. BUT IF YOU CAN DO IT IN VEGAS, WHY NOT IN SOUND FORGE TOO?????????????????????? Please, DAO CD burning and Sound Forge 6 is the champ again. Otherwise, (and especially if our new studio does well) I may stop worrying about comparative costs and simply go with funcionality. I love Sound Forge though, and DAO burning is the only thing missing for me. Dave |

When I started using Sonic Foundry's products, I purchased Vegas Audio 1.0 and Sound Forge 4.0/CDA. I have since upgraded to Sound Forge 5.0 (pre-ordered it and received it on the release day) and Vegas Video 3.0 (the same). Now Sound Forge 6.0 rolls around and I don't see much need to upgrade. I just downloaded and installed the beta, and I don't see anything new. Non-destructive editing? I can do that in Vegas... Even though I can buy the upgrade at the strike price of $99.00 (Possibly, the price of the upgrade), why would I? I don't see any need. Come on!! Give us something that we need! Where's DAO??? Peace! |
