Subject:How do I make my audio louder?

My audio seems to always be soft, even after I normalise. Compression helps with some things to make them louder, but in general I find that everything is just too soft. I don't want to use the volume maximiser or anything like that, but rather I want to raise the volume of the entire file without clipping. Why is it that even at 0 DB some things are just too soft? |

Compression/EQ is still the way to go, the apparent volume is dependent on compressions ratio, threshhold, gain, multibanding and probably more. If you think your waves are sounding weak/thin something like the BBE Sonic Maximizer may thicken the plot. Works on vocals/instruments. http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/BBE.html |
