Subject:no sound thru mic input on sound card

Hi,
I'm a newbie to sound forge. Can't figure out why I cannot record any sound thru the mic input on my onboard sound card. I know the microphone works. I can even hear my voice on the speakers but nothing records in Sound Forge 5. Any Ideas?

Open up the sound card's mixing control panel (double click the little yellow speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen), select Options, Properties, Recording, OK. Check the Mic input and adjust volume as necessary. You should now be able to record from the Mic.
