Hello, I'm just wondering...

I was searching for a product that would allow me to produce/encode surround sound. I guess Soft Encode can do this? Though, to my understanding, the product has been canned? If so, what product has SonicFoundry replaced this with, if any? Are any other software packages capable of producing/encoding surround sound? I'm working on a shortfilm that I plan on outputing to DVD later on. I'd like to create a surround sound audio track.

While Soft Encode continues to be a useful product, Sonic Foundry has determined that with the ever-increasing line of Sonic Foundry products, we must reduce those products not directly in-line with our current business patterns. Soft Encode currently fulfills a particular niche market for us, and while we appreciate the market we are currently serving, we have decided to retire the product and focus on new and emerging media technologies.
