Could you please suggest a suitable sound card to use with my Sound Forge 4.5. It will mostly be used for dubbing mono interviews from a Datman and editing them for radio broadcast. Also occasional stereo music dubs/edits from CDs. Not too pricy, perhaps in the $100 - $150 (US) range. Thanks. |

If you're willing to spend a bit more in the $150 to $200 range, I'd recommend anything from M-Audio (Midiman), Echo or Terratec. Iacobus |

You're welcome. I failed to mention in my last post that connections will play a big part on your final decision. The Audiophile 2496 from M-Audio, for example, has RCA analog connectors (in and out), RCA coaxial S/PDIF in and out, and MIDI in and out. The Delta DiO 2496 (also from M-Audio) has S/PDIF in and out on both coaxial and optical but no MIDI. The Mia from Echo has S/PDIF in and out and 1/4" balanced (TRS) ins and outs but also has no MIDI. They all definitely have one thing in common: Sweet, beautiful 24-bit audio. :) Iacobus |

One thing to keep in mind about the Echo Mia card is that is does not have an adjustment for the recording volume. If you record from a stereo through the analog inputs to the Mia, you will need an amplifier between the stereo and the Mia to adjust the recording volume. |
