What I'm freaking about really is whether or not to spend the money on getting Sonar 2.0. Plus the time it will take for me to learn it as well. I need to know that Vegas is going to be supporting audio well like sonar and not like its been so far! I would much rather be giving my hard earned money to sofo than cakewalk...but if I must then...I can hardly wait to upgrade to SF6!!! I hope that they've worked out the little BS bugs that were wandering around still in version 5.

Yes you can try it out it's pretty fast!
I like the new DX Favorites menu, now I can create my own plugin folder with the plugins that I use the most.

The new plugin chainer is another goody
I can pull up all the plugins and rearrange them while previewing and because it now floats you can select parts of the wave file without closing the chainer.

Preset Mgr. is nice, I can e-mail and trade plugin presets, now I can start bumming from Pipeline and Rednroll for presets.

Im going to be up playing with this one tonight!

Gotta love beta products. I tried installing the beta on XP and received an error that it could not install since *IE 4* was not installed. XP comes with IE 6...

Hi Kryten
Did you ever get SF6 loaded?
If not did you post your install problem at forge6beta@sonicfoundry.com?

I did not get it to install. The message I received was that IE4 or higher needed to be installed first, then it aborts. This was on XP Home, XP Pro AND WinME. I'm running IE6 on all three. I sent a note to the forge6beta address and received an automated reply that I may not get a personal answer. I don't understand this since SF5 installed fine.

I haven't had any problems loading it up on my system. Do you do Windows Updates on a regular basis? On your Windows ME system, take out Explorer 6 and re-install, then try the same process.. I don't know what else to tell you, I got the program running smoothly. I heard there's a beta of Explorer 7.0 running around... Look for that, it could solve problems.
