Maybe someone can help with this problem. Since upgrading to winxp, when recording from a line in source (phono, tape,) it will itermitantly clip and go to total distortion/white noise for a few seconds or the rest of the recording. I can't record more than a few minutes before this happens. I double checked all conections. I know this is a WindowsXP problem, because the same hardware worked fine with Win2K. Can't find any info @ Microsoft, anyone familiar enough with XP to point me in the right direction? Yamaha RP-U100 USB Audio Device Windows XP Sound Forge 5 |

It might help to contact Yamaha themselves if you haven't done so already. Sounds like it might be a driver issue. (I couldn't find anything other than literature on that product on Yamaha's site though.) Is the RP-U100 identified OK under Windows XP? A lot of products have yet to catch up to Windows XP. You have no idea how long I've had to wait for software that would let my guitar effects processor interface with Win XP. HTH, Iacobus |
