Subject:SF 5.0 illegal marker or region

I have a narration file that I drop markers on as I listen so that each segment can be copied and pasted/saved as/ for web audio compression and use. I keep getting a message THIS FILE CONTAINED AN ILLEGAL MARKER OR REGION. THE MARKER OR REGION HAS BEEN CORRECTED.

When the new file is reopened it has been shortened and the audio is cut short of the marker I placed. I've looked in the manual and help files but find no clue as to the cause or how to correct it. This is a rather routine process for us but never had this happen before. I even started with a new master file but get the same error.

I have experienced this and similar problems - trying to figure it out - I get the message "Another application has modified the sound file xyz. The file has been updated in Sound Forge and a new peak file will now be rebuilt"

The file is shortened by a few seconds - deleting any material at the end ...

If I had a marker that was at the end of the file - it shows up as being beyond the end of the file. If I save the file, it will delete all regions upon re-opening ...

Sorry I can't be of help - just letting you know you're not the only one experiencing this sort of thing ...
