I am purchasing a mixer, mics and a sound card which has 8 inputs. I want to be able to record all 8 tracks at once. Is there a sonicfoundry (or any company for that mattter) product which can record 8 tracks at once?? I know sound forge can only handle 2 tracks. |

Yes! Vegas will do the job. The only limitation on numbers of simultaneous tracks is your hardware. If you load your computer with 4 8channel cards and the processor & drives are fast enough, you can record 32 tracks at once. If you have the full version of Sound Forge 5 (not the XP studio version), then you either have or can download Vegas Audio LE 2.0, which allows 8 tracks. This will let you get a feel for the Vegas features for free. |

stienberg's CUBASE product line is the mother of all tracking software. Look at cakewalk as well. here's a link with a comprehensive list: http://www.pc-music.com/ |
