I get this error message when tying to save .wav files to mp3: "Your file format plug-in has expired. If you were trying to save to mp3 your 20 free encodes are up" Do I have to purchase a seperate plug-in to save to mp3? How absurd. |

You shouldn't. When you go to save as an MP3, first try clicking the "Custom" button. It should have a register button so that you can register your MP3 plug-in. Sonic Foundry must pay a license fee to Fraunhofer to even give you the ability to encode using the MP3 format in Sound Forge. I've heard it's expensive, so I imagine SF likes to know if people are using it so they know whether or not to keep sinking money into it. Iacobus |
