Hello, I have some voice tracks that I have been manually highlighting small peak sections and using the sound forge volume control to drop the peak without affecting the rest of the file. As I understand it this is what a peak limiter would do. Sound Forge does not appear to have a true peak limiter that drops only the peaks. Are there any plugins that are recommended for doing this? Thanks, Marc |

Have you tried Effects, Dynamics, Graphic? It can be configured as purely a limiter. It seems to work quite well for what i've been doing with it. The only real problem is that it seems to miss occasional rapid peaks, like that "tick" sound people make with their tongue against the roof of the mouth. However, it does remove the vast majority of the peaks leaving me with only a few to remove manually. |

You can play around with the Volume Maximizer (switch off the compressor) of the standard Sound Forge Wave Hammer or you can try the plug-in: Peak Slammer DirectX Plug-In by Scrollworks LLC Good Luck JTelles |
