Just curious about a few minor things: 1. When I "Preview" a selection in Process|Normalize or Process|Volume, I get about 4 seconds of playback and then it repeats. This happens even though the selected waveform section is much longer than 4 seconds. When I Preview a selection in Effects|Dynamics|Graphic, I hear the whole selection which then repeats; this seems correct. 2. During a normal playback when the screen is scrolling, if I click in the waveform area and so set the "cursor", playback continues normally but the window stops scrolling. How can I "unclick" this cursor without stopping the playback? 3. As far as I can tell the "Play" button in Tools|Extract Audio from CD does not work. I put in a CD, select a few tracks and press the Play button; nothing happens. I have an Aardvark 24/96 as the only audio or sound card in my computer. Normal waveform playback works fine. The audio extraction process seems to work fine. |

1. That's interesting. It happens to me too. 2. Try either "." or "\" on your keyboard. This will center the cursor in the display. Press the spacebar to stop and go back to where you clicked or "Enter" to pause right where the cursor presently is. 3. I can play but there's no apparent sound. (Using an M-Audio Audiophile 2496. It's the only soundcard in my system as well.) Could be that it's using analog rather than digital to preview. If that's the case, you'd need a CD audio cable leading from the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM itself to your soundcard...that's if your soundcard has a connector. (Mine doesn't.) As an alternative, you could fire up Windows Media Player to check out tracks, as that player plays tracks back digitally. Iacobus |

If you're using a direct-X plugin it will process what you have selected in real-time. I believe the items in the "Effects" menu falls under this category. Where as the items in the "process" menu doesn't. To increase this to more than 4 seconds, go under OPTIONS>PREFERENCES>PREVIEWS. Set "limit previews" to anything greater than 4 seconds, up to 600 seconds if you like, but this does take more memory. I'm not sure what unchecking this will do, I've have never had to use the "preview" option under any of these commands in the "process" menu, and never use the "effects" menu, because I have a large collection of direct X plugins. I believe this is the area you're looking for though. rednroll |
