Line-in stereo turns into mono when recorded -Sound Forge - PC

I'm trying to record radio through the home stereo into the line-in of the SB pci 128. When I listen to the radio stations with headphones on the pc it's pefect stereo sound, so this means that stereo sound is actually coming into the pc. When I record it with cool edit or sound forge(yes, turned stereo on maunually) it turns into mono, tried all different settings(16/32, 44100/48/64, etc) , nothing seems to work. This is probably a braincracker but plz try for me ;)
