I just got Soundforge 5.0, and I need to create an instrumental, remove the voice from the song, so i'm left with only the instruments playing. How do I do that? |

4) Go buy the track, or, better yet: 5) Contact the record label or producer of the song you're interested in and have them arrange for you to sit in on a re-mix session at the recording studio so they can mute the LdV track and dump a new mix to CD-R for you. Then, you can show up at your pre-booked mastering session to have the mastering engineer re-process your song (don't forget to bring your CD-R) & burn a new master for you. The producer will know which studio was originally used to mix the tune and at what mastering suite it was mastered. Be sure to ask the producer if the original mix engineer and mastering engineer will be available to perform your sessions. |

I can't remove "Voice" from "Track", no matter how many ways I arrange the letters. Only thing I can get out of "Track" is........"'ack...' There's that question again." |

SoFo must make a killing from people buying SF5 thinking it can remove vocals. I've yet to see that listed in the product specifications. ¢¢ |

Hey, you guys are mean just 'cause you know more than jazzer. So Sorry jazzer, what they are trying to say is that it's not really possible to do. And they get all worked up 'cause about every 2 months somebody asks the same question. One thing that you could try is to use that preset that removes all the material that is spread equally over both the left and right channels. Like vocals. And then run your song through an EQ that removes mid range, where vocals are mostly. It won't really work that well but you might reduce the vocals by 20db. Depending on your material it might be close to what you want. Somebody once mentioned a karaoke site they found that had a bunch of mp3s of pop stuff without vocals, but as the other guys have said, it came from a special mix. good luck. db |

I've had much success getting Karoke MP3s through Kazaa. (My 2 year old son likes to recodrd his own versions of songs such as Mambo 9...) Then there is that hardware vocal stripper to which I directed the last three people who asked "The Question". peter |

Here is what you do. Go to PROCESS - Channel Converter. drop down the preset menu to Stereo To Stereo - Vocal Cut (remove center material). this works perfectly to remove the lead vocal. Also removes kick and snare drum. mmmmmm, nice sound. |
