There's been a bit of talk lately on the Cubase KVR forum about SF dumping Acid. Sadness :(

The talk says that SF feel the $ are in high-level Govt and Military systems and that the audio/studio line will be left to rot and not updated beyond a few more bug fixes....

Does anyone know anything solid about SF and its plans ?

We are not ditching ACID. A new version is in the works. No, I can't offer any details about the next version.

From an outsider's point of view-- I can't imagine them ditching ACID right now. I'm guessing that it has a reasonable market outside of the audio 'community' (judging by the quantities stocked by Best Buy and Circuit City)... and it's probably quite a cash cow for them. I'm betting, dollars to donuts, that they make a pretty good deal of money off of each of the loop libraries. How does it go? 'You give them the razors for free & sell 'em the blades.' You get the idea.

I'm glad to hear that there are no plans for SF to drop this product Peter. I just got the program last week and a, learning everything I can about it. I think it shows alot of potential. Keep up the good work.

Just my 2 cents. ;*)

This is great news. I just bought AcidPro as well. A fantastic program - just lacks MIDI and DXi instruments, but other than that sooo fast and easy.

Thanks for the reply from Sonic Foundry !

Now I just wait ......
