Mastering with Sound Forge - best hardware? -Sound Forge - PC

Posted by: europa Date:3/21/2002 5:26:28 AM Hi I'm new to this forum and I'm looking at Sound Forge plus a bunch of plug-ins as option for doing some basic mastering in the studio - the idea being to send an unmastered mix for external pro-mastering but to be able to apply some ideas and make some post mix tweaks in parallel. I've got a spare PC PIII 1GHz, 1GB, 13GB running Win2K that I can use for this and I run other PCs with Cubase VST 5.1, NI Reaktor, and Gigastudio. I am using sound cards from RME (Hammerfall) and M-Audio (Audiophile) for the other apps and will be getting a similar card with digital I/O for the mastering machine. I'm mixing on a Tascam digital desk and will be outputting stereo to the mastering PC via S/PDIF or AES/EBU. My question is would anyone care to recommend a digital card for use with Sound Forge in this kind of application?
