Subject:How do I undo the Silence I added after saving?

Ok, I'm not the master mixer!!
I added 2 seconds of silence w/Sound Forge XP Studio at the beginning of my 6 vocal tracks, thinking the song was starting too quickly on the CD. Well, this completely screwed up my recording as it's no longer sync'd to my Loops. DUHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
Since I obviously SAVED the changes on each track, how do I get my orginal back without the silence? Strangely enough, when I did this it also changed my previous takes of the song that had different file names???!!!
Help...
and thanks,
Igneous

Open up that file again, highlight the blank two seconds at the beginning and delete it. Then save.

Thanks for the reply Chienworks. Could you give me the simple steps involved with highlighting exactly 2 seconds (Acid or Sound Forge) and deleting them? Putting in the 2 sec. of "Silence" was easy, but now getting rid of it is kicking my butt.

Zoom in as far as you need to in order to place the cursor accurately. If you zoom all the way in to 1:1, the right & left arrow keys will move the cursor sample by sample (1/44100 of a second if your file is 44.1KHz). The first of the three time displays in the lower right corner shows the current cursor position. Nudge the cursor left until it changes from 00:00:02.000 to 00:00:01.999 zoom back out so that the beginning of the file is shown. Hold the shift key down, click anywhere to the left of the cursor position and drag back to the beginning. This will highlight 2 seconds. Press the Delete key.

OK Chienworks...YOU ARE MY HERO!!
I have repaired my song because of your help and instruction. Sorry it took a while to reply. I wish that Sonic Foundry would take note of the assistance you gave me. I forwarded the same message on the same day to this Forum and to their website. THEY have still not even answered this registered customer. Thanks again Chienworks.
