Hello: I just installed Sonic Forge, plugged in my Shure Mic, recorded my lovely voice singing Andy Gibbs "Shadow Dancing", played it back and heard loud hiss throughout the recording AND the "click-click" of my hard drive working! How do I get rid of this crappy his and hard drive noise, and leave me with only my lovely voice on the recording???? Thanks for your help! John |

Move your mic MUCH farther away from the computer, maybe into another room if possible. Does your hard drive make that much noticeable noise when you're just sitting there next to the computer? If not, then you're probably getting electrical interference as well. Use a well shielded cable and make sure it goes away from the computer instead of having a lot of it bunched up near the computer. You might also just have a very poor soundcard. |

You need to have anything that makes noise in a seperate room from the microphone. Sorry, but that's the facts. I've read of people enclosing thier comps. in sound proofed boxes but heat build up could cause severe damage. good luck, dh |
