Hi folks, I'm new to Acid. I have 2.0. I'm interested in finding out how to solve this problem. I have a couple of the acid cds with beats. I want to layer them with a snippet I have of some live drums but the live drums are a tad off tempo wise here and there. How do I fix the real drums so they match up with an 8 or 4 measure loop from the acid cd collection? |

Hmmm... Since the drums are just a snippet, maybe open it in Sound Forge (or Sound Forge XP Studio, which comes with ACID Pro) and use the ACIDizing tools available in those programs? It should be easy enough as long as you know where the downbeats are. Alternatively, if you don't have ACID Pro or Sound Forge, try using the Pencil Tool to draw in a portion of the drums and then move the event so that it lines up with the rest of the project. (Use F8 to turn snapping on and off.) HTH, Iacobus |

The second suggestion is what I would actually try first. Since you are talking drums, you can "cut" your live drum track up and "line it up" with the acid track relatively easy and it should sound pretty good. That is, you won't have drop out sounds when you cut and move the sound. May be a big task to take on - but trust me, once it is done, you will appreciate the time you took to do it to have "full" control of how the mix came together over having the software do it and perhaps not get it as right as you would have wanted (then you will end up doing a cut/move job anyway...so you might as well start there!!) |
