I'm trying to edit a song for the finale number in a pageant that i am choreographing. I need to take about 7 measures and repeat them. Trying to loop them makes it just play those measures and everytime I try to select those 7 measures to copy and paste, it just selects the entire song....help...I'm just learning ACID and I'm pretty much guessing what to do and finding the help not very helpful.

i've only had acid techno 3.0 for a day, but try this...

on the right hand side of the screen, right click on the icon that goes with those seven measures. click "duplicate track" and it should drop just those seven measures to the bottom of the list on the mixer. from there you should be able to move these around to accomplish the loop. it will be a big time pain in the ass if you're planning on looping them for long, but that is the only way i can figure it out.

Hello,
On the tool bar, select the time selection tool, then
Click your cursor at the first measure and drag the cursor to the right to the seventh measure, and this will create a time selection, then hold down the Ctrl key and left click all the loop files within the time selection, then right click any of the audio files in the time selection and select copy, then position the cursor where you want the new first measure to start, then right click to the right of the cursor and select paste, and that should do it. BTW after you paste that time you can right click again and again to keep pasting the same set of files over and over.

See ya, Rockit

It's probably waaay to late to answer this one, but - Rockit has the right idea. Actually, I would have suggested something a little simpler which is:

Just trim the audio event to the 7 measure you want (delete the excess parts before and after). Then once you have the little piece that you want, right click it, choose copy. Then click your cursor where you want the next 7 measures to start, and click past (on your toolbar).

The cursor will automatically jump to the end of the paste...just click paste again...and again...and again.

Now...all that is assuming that the sound matches up from the "original" copy to where you want to past it. I have done this in the past and created a 20 minute loop in a matter of seconds.
