Subject:Acidizing 24-bit files

SF XP does not work with 24 bit, otherwise it does everything I need at the present.
Is there any way to set Acid loop info on 24-bit files other than do a rather expensive upgrade to Sound Forge?

Thanks
Erik

Are you using ACID Pro? (I'm gathering you are, since ACID Pro is the only version of ACID that has 24-bit support.)

To ACIDize a file using ACID, check out this SF Knowledge Base article.

Note that this is a bare-bones approach and doesn't allow the tweaking capabilities that Sound Forge 5 provides.

Thanks, at least it lets you put the info into the 24-bit loops .
I splashed out $20 for a shareware utility called Acidizer although there are a couple of bugs in the demo version.

Just found a possible answer to my own question and maybe a solution for those needing a batch processor for Acid. There is a free one at:

Hi Erik,

We talked a little about a batch acidizer in another thread. This new program you found (acidhead) looks promising. Please post back with your opinion of it, if you don't mind. I'd really appreciate it. I'll do the same.

Thanks!

I tried to send this to the author, but the email bounced

"1) When you click on a folder it automatically moves every file into the
pool for processing. What if you want to batch only part of a folder, it may include loops of varying length but same tempo that you want to process separately.

2) It would be nice to have some kind of preplaying waves to check for
number of beats/measures before processing."

I am still waiting for the author of Acidizer to send me an unlock code.

There is a free acidizer included in a set of utilities I wrote many moons ago. You can download it at http://thefreeside.com/utilities/

While I never made the habit of using 24-bit files, if I wrote it correctly (and I certainly recall having done so) it should work for any wave file.
