Okay I am trying to create a clip with background music in a certain amount of time but i also want to hear the sound transposed or overlayed on top of the background music..how do i do this? (I'm rather new to the whole technical sound editing terms) |

Open the one audio file, use CTRL+A to select all of the data and then use CTRL+C to copy. Then switch to the other file and use CTRL+M to mix the two together. It's worth noting that wherever the cursor is placed is where the mix will begin at. Be also sure that both audio files, when mixed, don't make the meter clip. HTH, Iacobus |

You can also right-click and select mix when the cursor is where you want it. If you are putting music over voice or the other way around you can also make the new overlay "duck"...like side- chaining, aka:keying a compressor.. automaticly reduces level. . This is great for adding a voice-over to a music track. For more info see the SF manual or the on-line help. |
