Multiple Vegas 12 renders at the same time

Hi there,

I have a project of 32 short movies that are not really hard to edit, but they all take appr. 60 minutes to render. Is there a way to start up multiple versions of the program and render more at the same time without errors? Or to que them in some way like Adobe After Effects can?

If so, how many would you recommand to do max?

I remember I tried this in earlier versions and it sometimes caused errors in the results

I don't think multiple render instances would speed up your overall render time. I know it works with CPU only renders but it was much too slow when compared to batch rendering with GPU. Vegas does have a build in batch render script or you can use Vegasaur's Transcoder for it which has many options of doing batch rendering.

Yep, I would definitely go the batch render way. I prefer Vegasaur for that as it can also shut down the PC etc..

Thank you guys,

I will look into that, I would expect multiple instances to be faster though, since my CPU and memory usage are very low during rendering anyway....never understood why Vegas doesn't use all the resources it has...

You can certainly do so if you wish to. Back before scripting i would often open over a dozen instances of Vegas and have them all rendering. It didn't speed up the overall process much, maybe a little. But, the advantage was that i could start them all and walk away, and by morning they'd be done. Without running them all at once i'd have to have come back every half hour to start the next one and that would have kept me up all night.

To start up another instance of Vegas, simply double-click the Vegas icon while previous ones are still running.

I use multiple instances for rendering all the time without any problem.
