Do you have an image of you system from Windows system image backup or Acronis, etc? Do you have a Windows restore point prior to the failure?

When has it worked for you? How long ago? I don't see you've had any issues prior to this as this is your first post.

It was working last week. I've been rendering video just fine. Today it seems to have gone on vacation. No error messages.

No restore point, as nothing new has been installed for several weeks. Unless microsoft pushed an update.

I tried the "run as administrator" and "compatibility" (win 7) fixes, but no change. Nothing happens.

Check for any Windows updates that coincide with the issue:
Control Panel / Windows Update / View Update History

You might also have a look at your system log files:
Open Event Viewer by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-clicking Event Viewer.? If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Click an event log in the left pane.

Nothing in the event logs when I attempt to start Vegas Pro. I don't even get a splash screen.

Have you tried a system restore? I've found previously that sorted a problem, even if there didn't appear to be any relevant changes made. Have you tried holding down ctrl+shift as you double click the Vegas icon? (be aware that this will reset all windows etc to their default values).

Did you try to launch directly from the .exe file located in the Program Files folder?
64Bit: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro
32Bit C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\Vegas Pro\

Byron - Yes, no difference. A second windows 10 system just started exhibiting the same behavior. Upgrading to Vegas 13 should fix the problem I hope.

Arthur - ctrl shift while clicking icon made no difference. no system restore. 2nd windows 10 machine now exhibiting same behavior.
