Are you talking about "Media Generators" -- "TItles and Text" .. ?
What disappeared? Your Video Preview? Can you post a picture of the timeline?

If you are missing the effects or media editing window try hitting CTRL+ALT+D to restore the default window layout.

Edit: The correct key combination is ATL+D+D.

yeah, its titles and text, when I go to edit and change the text, the window does not appear, as it did just minutes before it happened

I assume you have dragged "Titles and Text" to the timeline .. Do you still have an event called "Sony Titles and Text" on the timeline? If so then it seems like you have the Titles and Text window docked and hidden somewhere. If you can't find it, it may be that one window is docked on top of another Look for the tab that says "Video Media Generators" (not the tab that says Media Generators) This tab may be left, center or the on the right side of the screen. Click on that tab to bring the lost window into view.

Thats the thing. Its got to be docked somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it. I'm dragging my mouse over the edges of my screen, unlocked my taskbar, moved it, looked under every nok and crag, can't find it. I'm going to hit support tomorrow I guess, I was hoping I could figure it out. I'm behind on a project I was kicking ass on! thanks I'll keep looking though
