Red Giant Universe Free no longer available

Red Giant seems to no longer offer the Universe Free plugins with the recent release of Universe 2.0. The Free option has disappeared from RG's Universe product page as well as from 'Your Products' under My Account. It's also gone from the latest Red Giant Link.

While the free FX still work in VP13, I'm not likely to use them any more because there's now no way to reinstall them if a reinstall becomes necessary for any reason.

Universe is now only available as a subscription for $99/yr or $20/mnth.

UPDATE: In the Red Giant Link under Your Tools, the free plugins do appear, and it does seem that they can be uninstalled and reinstalled from the drop down box next to Your Tools - so that is good.

UPDATE to the UPDATE: As I just found out, if the free Universe 1.0 plugins are uninstalled, they completely disappear from the RG Link and there is no option to reinstall them. Fortunately, I first checked all my projects that might have a Universe FX applied before uninstalling them - only missed one which was then easily replaced with another company's FX.

That's Red Giant for you, Always doing the weirdest stuff.
They are very inconsistent when it comes on to maintaining certain features...

This highlights the core problem with so-called "cloud" technologies .... the fact that they can evaporate. Until there's some sort of global software services escrow system in place, it's hard to see how anyone other than the most gullible would buy into it.
