Play All Menu Bluray?

Forgive me, I'm really new to this software!

I want to make a really simple meun with only one page. The material consists of two files (first and second half of a concert). I've layed out chapter points in each video and I can create programs for each video. From that I can place a simple button on the one page menu to link to each chapter point. What I cannot figure out is how to make a "play all" button where all the chapters are available. I can easily make a "play all" button that starts the video and will play the entire concert in order, however, only the chapters in the first half operate in the preview. I finally resorted to making a single video file for the entire concert. I'm hoping that isn't the only way!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Peter

There are several ways to do it. The best and most efficient is to have your concert as one video and then have chapters. Then your PLAY ALL button links to the video and it plays all. The CHAPTER buttons link to the chapters.

It sounds like you have broken your video into 2 halves. If you don't want to redo it, you can set the PLAY ALL to link to the first half and have the END ACTION of the first half link to the second half.

Since what you are trying to do is uncommon, there is no quick way of doing it. You would have to do all the little steps that a wizard normally does.

You could insert buttons on the main menu and define linkages to the chapters.

Another way would be to drag your first video to the main menu. Re-label the name to <file1 button1> or something more meaningful. Insert a scene (chapters) menu by right-clicking on the video in the overview pane. In the overview pane drag all chapter buttons except the first to the the main menu. On the main menu, delete the scene menu button, and the now empty scene menu will disappear. You are left with a main menu with buttons to the start of the file and the chapters. Repeat for your second file. Set the end action of the first video to automatically play the second video.

Render one video and one audio stream in Vegas as documented all over the place.
You do want separate chapters in one video file, but not separate titles from two..

When I first started video editing many years ago with different software, I used to create a single menu with the chapter/scene buttons on it.

The next software I used always created menu pairs: a main menu and a scene/chapter menu. There was no way to change that, and it annoyed me at first. Then I changed my mind and came to like the uncluttered main menu and all the selections now on a separate menu.

DVD Arch normally makes menus this way too, with little fuss, but you are not forced to have it this way. If you want something different of course it would involve more work.

I suggest that you try the two menu approach and see if you can grow to like it too. If not, then follow the method I have given. I also suggest that you try to render a single video file as musicvid10 recommended, or you will be up for more work and a possible delay when playing from the end of one file to the start of the next.
