I often switch between the "Normal Edit Tool" (CTRL-D) and the "Selection Edit Tool". The Normal Edit tool has a Hot Key, but I don't see one for the Selection Edit Tool. Is there a Hot Key for it?
I had to make this Ctrl+S - this isn't by default. It works and keeps the Ctrl+D and then keeps Ctrl+S the next logical step. When I rollover I now GET the ToolTip to reflect this.
The next thing, for me, is to sort out that new "Shuffle Tool" nonsensical workflow - a powerful control but somehow mismatch with the Vegas workflow.
There's not a direct hot key, but d (no modifier, just the letter d) cycles through all the selection tools. So if you're on the Normal Edit tool, two quick taps on d gets you to to the Selection Edit tool. Another two taps from there puts you back at the Normal Edit tool (or, as noted, Ctrl+D).
<<<How can I get the Shuffle Tool to be part of a rotational selection?>>>
You probably just have to find the right guy to ask...It can't be done in the current version, but it's in the backlog now. Note (in case you're not aware of it) that you can right-click and drag one event over another and then choose Shuffle from the context menu. That's less painful than selecting the Shuffle Tool from the menus, at least when you have a small number of shuffles to make.
Thank you to all that replied. I think I'll go with the D-D (double tap D) solution. I wished I had asked 10 years ago, could have saved some time and mouse movements.
I learned it last year and I was like wow! What else am I missing here?
Getting to know the most useful shortcuts for you, will save you a lot of time. Check them out and see wich ones will help you with your common workflow and then come back to the doc and see, wich ones you can incorporate in your edit routine
Hi there. I still face the same problem with you! Actually, I found a shortcut for "time/stretch/Compress tool". But I can't find any shortcut for "Normal Edit Tool". I also notice a bug of the program.
Let me help you with the shortcuts... and the place that are located on your system. First you must enable to see the Hidden files. Then, you will find the shortcuts on windows 7 on the following path
Dear Nick, First of all: thanks for your time. I really appreciate that. However, I have already try that and it doesn't works. I mean "CTRL + D"! Let me describe you what I mean... step by step...
For example, if you are on Shuffle Tool or on Time Stretch and you will press "D", it will take you to the next selection which is "Envelove Edit Tool". Now if you press CTRL + D, It will NOT take you to normal edit, but it will take you to Shuffle tool, or Time Stretch tool that you were before (you press D). This is my main problem.
