Have you tried another player, eg VLC player? Windows Media Player is usually at fault. I went through this too.

I updated my Windows system after advice from the Microsoft error page. After updating it now appears I have a problem with my video card. Windows shut it down after reporting a problem. My monitor will not come on at all, but my second display works at a lower resolution. I was running a Nvidia 460 GTX card. Any suggestions for another card to replace it with. The other display adapter is a GeForce 9300 The second display is on the VGA while the main monitor is HDMI. I was thinking of an upgrade for awhile, but don't know what to. Thanks

Anyone? I'm looking at an AMD. Can I use that with Nvidia being the other card or do I need to swap out both for the same maker?

An AMD 280X or better will help with timeline performance. You can keep the GTX460 in the system and use it for rendering MC AVC with CUDA.

But I also would try a clean Windows 10 install rather then an update; it runs soooo much better and I am almost 99% certain you can get the GTX460 to work too. Have you tried installing an older Win7 driver for the GTX460?

Well I got the card to work again by trying to roll back the driver. That didn't have any result so I then hit the update button and Windows found one. we'll have to see how it plays with Vegas and BCC 10. I still get Media player stopping and MPC-HC player glitching. Don't know what is causing that. The camera or the cards ??? Renders are without problem or pause.
