What is this??

Hey, I am editing a video project and suddenly the video track turned into something I don't know what it is. (Did a screen shot but I don't see how to attach it in the thread. Anyone knows how to?)
The track became "divided" into two, kind of. The video clips come alterntively on the upper and the lower level, with an empty "track" in between. The upper track has an A on it and the lower has a B. The in betweeen thing has a transition symbol, I think it is. The audio track hasn't changed though.

I guess this is some kind of editing mode, but I am not familiar with it. Don't know what it is for, how it appeared and don't know what to do to get rid of it.

Anyone?

Oh, I found it out. It was the "Expand Track Layers" function. I have no idea as to how I activated it because I did not click on the track header at all when it happened, just touching the event edge to trim....
Anyway, now I know and I managed to take it away.

If anyone knows how to attach an image or video to the forum posts please let me know.

Martin, you've likely double-clicked on the clip edge when trimming as doing that activates 'expand track layers'. The clip's edge will have then been highlighted in red. Double-clicking the red edge will de-activate 'expand track layers'. There are other ways of activating/de-activating 'expand track layers', these being outlined in the manual. From earlier postings on this issue, it does not seem that there is any way of turning off the 'expand track layers' function so as to avoid inadvertently activating it.

Cheers

So does this work Mike?

Actually it didn't. I put the image on dropbox och copied the link to it, and then posted it here according to instructions.

Wrt the topic, if you see a red bracket, it's the expanded edit mode.

ML? I have no idea at all, other than I did not use your DB link - I went for my own, and "dropped" the S out of the HTTPS.
