Need some audio help suggestions

I was asked to be a videographer at the last minute for a dance group. I recorded the audio from their sound board using my Tascam recorder. It recorded fine, but the talent could not keep their distance correct from the microphones so there is a lot of p popping going on. Any suggestions on compression or other to minimize the loud thump of the p's? Thanks for your ideas.

The Multi-band Dynamics audio FX (a stock plugin as I recall) has plosive, sibilant and plosive+sibilant templates. It's worth trying it to see if it helps. I've used it to reduce sibilants and it does work.

If a multiband limiter does not yield adequate results, most plosives can be surgically 'fixed' in Sound Forge or other audio 'editor' either with a fast volume dip and/or applying a steep high pass filter (low cut) on the plosive. Another option is to replace the offending 'P' or 'B' consonant from a simular word that's OK.
