Subject:issues with Yamaha midi keyboard

Hi, I am new to midi.... I returned the cheapo midi controller and got a Yamaha PSR-E353.

I could use a little advice on a couple things:

1) The volume is low on the midi recordings. When I'm playing along I can't hear the sound of the keyboard enough and I want to turn it up. I have put the slider on the track all the way up but it still istn' loud enough compared to the other recorded tracks. I enabled inline midi editing and selected all the notes, right click, and set the velocity to maximum and that helped a bit, but I don't think that's what I'm supposed to do. Is there any way I can increase the play and record volume other than using the slider on the track?

2) It seems to be buggy with ACID. Every once in a while when I am doing playback on a midi track, it goes silent and I can't get it to make a sound. Only closing ACID and starting over makes it work again. Also occasionally all the midi sounds are screwed up. no matter what note I play it sounds like someone tapping on a pipe in a sewer. (this is through the computer, the keyboard sounds correct). If I wait a few minutes or reboot the program or change midi channel I can get it to sound right again.

Any advice on these issues? thanks!

Also is there a manual for ACID10?

1) Volume of the VSTi (soft synth) used in question should help you out in this case. Velocity would just ensure how "hard" or "soft" that note plays. The overall volume is controlled by the VSTi. (I don't recall Sony DLS Synth having a dedicated volume but I know most 3rd-party VSTis do.)

2) MIDI volume going kablooey is not something new; a restart always solves it on my end too. Never had that other "pipe in a sewer" issue, though.
