Subject:PC users are directed to remove QuickTime ASAP

Today, I was made aware that PC users were directed to remove QuickTime from their machines ASAP and Apple agreed. Going so far as to provide steps to properly uninstall it from Windows.

I have Sound Forge Audio Studio 10, and, if I remember correctly, it will not run without QuickTime installed. Is there a plan going forward to remedy this?

Apple is abandoning QuickTime for Windows because it couldn't keep up with the constant security updates. Apple. The GIANT tech company. How would a free codec be more secure?

Thanks, but this would be worse than to just leave QuickTime installed. Which everyone, to include the US Government and Apple, advises PC users to NOT do.

So, if SCS software requires this to be installed is SCS going to create some kind of "fix" so it is no longer required in their software? I guess I'm confused as to why they are discontinuing the Quicktime program for Windows users?
