leewise wrote on 4/14/2016, 8:24 AM
I recently installed Vegas Pro 12 on a new WIN 10 machine. I have a large project coming up ans i wanted to begin using Media Manager. When I try to view MM a window pops up that says Media Manager not Installed.

So far, I have not been able to find any info on installing media manager. Please help.

Thanks,
Lee

Hmmm. This download page says Media Manager for Vegas Pro 8-11 and ACID Pro 7 updated on Jan. 6, 2011 which I don't take as a good sign for Pro 12 & 13 users :(

Your situation is based on the OS problems not the version of VegasPro. However do note that development of Media Manager was halted a long-time ago. Win7Pro would be your best platform choice.

Did you install MM separately from Vegas already?

For anyone interested that stumbles upon this post... I was able to install Media Manager 2.4 with Sony Vegas 12 on a 64-bit Windows 10 machine. It complained about SQL Server Express 2005 not being supported in Windows 10, but it didn't prevent the installation. I was able to open an existing media library and access my information (roughly 10,000 cataloged clips).

Hope that helps someone,
Jason...

Media Manager running rock solid here in VP12 and VP13 under Windows 10. Here are the Microsoft SQL components I have installed, grabbed from the Programs and Features list. This may be more than you need to have installed, but it works for me. I'm afraid I can't tell you exactly what packages I downloaded and in what order:

Nick Hope: "Here are the Microsoft SQL components I have installed, grabbed from the Programs and Features list."Nick, how did you know you needed to install them? Did you get an instruction to do so? Did you get a request to do this when you installed MM?

Grazie

Seems that Nick Hope has discovered a way to patch SQL 2005 into the Windows10 OS. I am surprised that this works, but if it does all the better. There perhaps could be a question if this is a completely clean patch, or if it is JUST enough to keep Media Manager running.

Would like to see this info and or further adjustments included in the VegasPro transistion into Magix ownership.
