There may be a blindingly easy way to do this - and if there isn't, there should be! I use SF10Pro for classical CD editing, where the normal process is edit together the relevant takes as a '1st edit' Save as an FRG, and send a rendered file to the musicians for their comments. Then return to the FRG for a '2nd edit', which involves replacing some takes with alternatives. The problem occurs when I try to revisit an edit in the middle of the FRG. If I wish to open up the edit (i.e. move everything to the right of the edit point further down the timeline) to give myself space to work, it gets very messy having to 'click-shift-click' to keep all the later material locked together - especially if I'm trying to zoom on the timeline as well... There must be some easy way of locking the material (audio + edits) together so it can be moved about as a block, until I choose to unlock it again. I seem to remember it could be done with a single click in Sadie or Sonic Solutions, but the ever-helpful Sony manual is providing no clues on this one... If your not doing so already, I would try editing in the 'Event' mode, which is very similar to CD Architect and Vegas.. both of which could be considered an alternate software option, if your not doing a lot of 'surgery' at the sample level. The 'Event' mode was not available in SF prior to Pro-10. |

Thanks for the thought, but it is Pro-10 I'm using, and I have tried both modes... |

Problem now solved. In the 'events' mode markers stay locked to the timeline, but the audio and edits do stay locked together. My fault! |
