Y'know, as much as we all despise the subscription software model, i'm on the verge of saying i would absolutely love to pay Microsoft a rental fee every year if they would just let me keep using XP and Win7 forever, with absolutely no changes other than security updates.

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your outlook, the technological world marches on relentlessly, and Windows will have to respond to external changes.

A static Windows would be OK for a static Vegas.

Geez, I guess I'm static because I like Windows 3.1, the last one that I new what I was doing.

Thanks for the heads up, but Insider Preview Builds are effectively beta versions of Windows, so why, if you depend on Vegas, would you be running it on an Insider Preview Build?

I knew someone would scold me. I don't depend on Vegas: I use Premiere, Lightworks and Resolve interchangeably, some are better at certain things than others. But I always appreciate a post from Captain Obvious.

Ha ha, didn't mean to sound like I was scolding you! :-) As I say, thanks for the heads up. It might not be obvious to everyone that the preview builds are optional. Hopefully SCS will be testing this too and a fix will be in place before this goes mainstream.
