Subject:How to make a .wav sound like a robot???? Posted by: FuKt Date:3/4/2002 7:56:10 PM i really need some1's help on this as i need it for a multimedia project ia mworking on....i have several wav files of my voice and was wondering how i go about turning my voice into a robot's voice using sound forge??? some 1 told me it was possible but i can't seem to find the filter for it?? can some 1 with please help out? would be much appreciated :P

Reply by: Chienworks Date:3/5/2002 7:20:29 AM One thing i've tried that gave pretty cool results was to use time stretch to drastically shorten the recording, and then use time stretch again to stretch it back out to the original length. Also feel free to just experiment with lots of combinations of effects and filters. You'll probably find some interesting things that you'll have uses for later on.

Select the file, normalize RMS or to 0db, increase the volume if you want to get the correct levels. Then apply the Gapper/Snipper to the file. Try using the "Fast & distorted 1" preset. You can also apply some chorus if you want to. Just experiment to find the best settings.
