Hey there- Long time Sony family of products user (Vegas 3.0?... anyone?) Lately though I have loaded Boot Camp onto a Mac Cylinder and work in Vegas from there. I re-installed all of my software, and most things work fine, but Sound Forge, once installed, will work once or twice, and then out of the blue it will ask for Registration, asking for administrator privilege. I have already registered it, and own multiple copies of Sound Forge. Yet I cannot seem to get an install to "take". Anyone else ever had this problem? Chap |

This is a common issue, even in native Windows PCs. |

Not everyone is capable of editing the registry. That can be a problem when Sony asks you to update the registry to have one of their programs correctly execute. I would like to see Sony write a program that will update the registry to do what is required in this set of instructions: https://www.custcenter.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5176 The program would do the following: 1. Display a list of Sony programs installed to be modified. 2. Allow the user to select one or more programs. 3. Backup the registry. 4. Make the changes. Be sure each individual program can be completely updated (no errors in registry) or don't update it. Update the programs that can be completely updated. 5. Display a list of programs that were successfully updated and not updated. 6. Allow the user to create a file (I forget the file type) to restore the registry, if necessary. 7. Exit the program. |
