Anyone using PluralEyes these days?

I used PluralEyes for a while, a while back, while it was a Magic Bullet product.
Decided I didn't really need it at that time, since I was using just 2 cameras and synching "by hand" was not all that challenging.
Now we're using four cameras, and could use a good quick synch tool.
I discovered that PluralEyes is now owned by Red Giant, not Magic Bullet, and that the price is now twice as high as it used to be. ($299 now; used to be $149)
And Red Giant doesn't allow upgrade to the new product from the Magic Bullet version.

Is anyone using the latest version, and do you think it's worth the $299?
Thankya...

I find myself using the excellent older version of Plural Eyes. The New version since Red Giant bought them out always seems to crash when synchronizing all my clips at one time. The only way I can get the Red Giant version to work is to snych not more than two cameras to a master track. The older version (pre Red Giant) works w/ out any problem on all tracks at the same time. Total waste of my upgrade monies. I don't know what Dead Giant did but imho, typical of the big fish syndrome, they totally screwed up the app after they took it over. All they did was add eye candy and made it slower and broken. Just my experience, others here have had better results w/ the newer version.

+1. The older version works quite well. Plus it has the option to allow subframe audio offsets. I bought the upgrade to Version 3, but found it did not work nearly as well, plus the option from subframe audio offsets was gone. I tried the latest version 4 release, but found it to be even less desirable. It has zero options unlike the original version, plus it synchronizes by brute force (does not have option to specify events are in chronological order) . Consequently, it is dreadfully slow. The only advantage is that it will correct for drift which may be important for some with long programs. For me a least, it's definitely NOT worth the upgrade cost.

I use versions 2 and 3 .. I have to say that when Version 3 fails to sync, very often Version 2 will do the job. Version 3 was a disappointment. It doesn't seem to be faster overall either. I have no experience with Version 4 which seems to be the current version. I'm happy with what I have. But I do recommend using Plural Eyes. It's saved me tons of time syncing sound.

I downloaded the v4 Trial Version and tried it in a project with four cameras and one separate audio track.
I was very impressed with how well PluralEyes synched it all up.
So I did go ahead and buy it -- we have a number of multicamera shoots coming up in the Spring.

I was motivated to look into it when I edited a recent Gospel Choir concert... I thought I had "manually" synched up all 4 cameras pretty well, but during the edit, when I got to a song that had a lot of handclapping in it, I noticed I was off "just THAT much", but quite enough to notice. Went back and started over again and got it right, but I wasted some time in that.

Hopefully my luck will hold with v4 and I won't experience the crashing mentioned upstream...

Thanks for the responses!

I'm still using V2.0, as haven't seen any new features in the newer versions to tempt me to spend more dosh. I've been through the change over to Red Giant with no probs. It's not infallible, but boy it's saved me a lot of time overall!!

PluraEyes 1 & 2 was released by Singular Software. Red Giant acquired PluralEyes in 2012 & released versions 3, 3.5, 4.
I regularly use PluralEyes v.2, to this day, to sync all of my 7 to 9 camera projects. I own & have used versions 3 & 3.5 and always have gone back to version 2 to sync my multi-cam projects because the later versions just could not completely sync my projects.

Just tested PluralEyes 4 on a complex project with great results in Vegas Pro 13.
Here's my video review:

I had no issues with versions 1 & 2, all sorts of glitches with V3, but 4 seems better than ever.

I just completed a series of ten hour-long 4-camera programs with three additional sound tracks. PluralEyes workrd well bringing them all into sync, but I found it wise to add one new source to the mix at a time. Program seemed overwhelmed when asked to sync up all simultaneously. Only consistent discount for PluralEyes that I know of is for academics. Sometimes it is offered free with purchase of Rode microphones.
