How do I individually apply Media FX?

I was just wondering how apply Media FX to individual clips without applying it to the entire host file. I've cut one clip in half and want to apply Sony Stabilize to one clip, but then it affects the clip that I cut it from. I was just wondering how to do just affect one clip.

Make a selection of what you want. Open the selection in the trimmer. Make a sub-clip. Apply the stablizer to that.

I wasn't aware I could do that. I was only aware that SONY Stabilize needed to be applied at Media level. I also wasn't aware that the Subclip became an item that changed the Event to be this type of thing.

I do it all the time. You still use Media FX but just for that sub-clip ??? Seems to work. Seems to save time. But the sub-clips are only good inside that project.
