Another Graphics card question

Always Learning wrote on 2/25/2016, 9:26 AM
My computer has gone to the hospital today, with what I suspect is a graphics card problem. I am not technically proficient, so if it needs replacement, what card should I replace it with? The current card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680.
I will get my replacement from Novatech in the UK, so it is NVIDIA or AMD

In an ideal world I don't want to spend much over £150. Am I being realistic, and if not, what should I go for off the lists?

Give this card some thought. SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 380X NITRO OC 4GB GDDR5

I would agree with John. The Radeon cards with Open CL language work much better with Vegas than nVidia CUDA does.

I have an R9-390 and love it. But if you are looking for a 4K compatible card, double check the refresh rate at 4K. The R9-390 is only good for 30hz.

The DisplayPort output can do 4k @ 60hz, just not the HDMI, at least that's what I'm reading. (Don't have a 4k monitor)

Thanks peeps
Although I delivered the computer to the hospital a few days ago, it has only gone under the knife today. Awaiting results.
