I've tried virtually all the noise reduction plugins and Izotope RX is the best by a ridiculously wide margin. The Dialog Denoiser in the $99 bundle is a less adjustable version of the Denoiser in the full Izotope RX but probably has the same basic algorithm.
I'd like to try the RX Denoiser but I don't own any software it will run on .. like Sound Forge .. I downloaded DaVinci Resolve 12 (which is free and on the list of applications that can run RX) but on install Windows gave me a Windows SmartScreen error -- "unknown publisher" .. ???
Any suggestions on a way for me to try out RX Denoiser ? I have a trial version of Sound Forge 11.299 but it doesn't seem to find the RX plug-in.
Ok. l see that RX Plugins run inside Vegas Pro as well as Sound Forge 11.299 .. Just a matter of installing in the Vstplugin folder. Very convenient running inside Vegas.
THEY SHOW UP in Vegas but will not actually change a file in V13. The OK button is missing.
Just in case anyone else is thinking about the new RX plugins for $99. They do work as plug-ins within Vegas.
I actually queried iZotope on this and they replied as follows: " .. RX Plugin Pack has not been tested for use with Sony Vegas Pro 13. As such, certain issues might arise that cause the plugin to loose functionality .. " ..
But it seems they do work. I found at least one guy on Creative Cow who helped me by saying he's found that the RX plugins work inside Vegas but not to expect the OK, Cancel or Preview button which display (and work) when using RX Plugin Pack with Sound Forge or the like. Those buttons do not display when running the plugin inside Vegas.
My opinion is that the RX plugins work fine inside V13 .. and they do an amazing job.
