Would it be worthwhile to have both, SAL and the plug-in for Vegas? .. You can buy the SAL for $99.95 and then upgrade to the Suite for $79.95 more giving you the SAL, the Plug-in for Vegas and the CMOS fixer.
Or is the Plug-in for $119.95 all that is really needed?
Looks like that's all you'd need then .. the Plug-in with CMOS corrector included is $119.95 .. wouldn't that be the way to go? SAL seems useless unless it offers more than the Plug-in?
Yeah, well it depends on exactly what I'm doing. Sometimes having the options to be able to go outside VP is good. However, being able to stabilise a live Event within VP is great.
kinda related... I notice PANASONIC GH4 is not in the supported cameras list for the VEGAS PLUGIN... anywhere here using V4 Plugin for GH$ 4k Footage?
My footage crashed Vegas stabilizer on two systems, always. Hoping Mercalli works. Ima try the trial but it is the full suite, not just the plugin that I want.
I'm running the Mercalli 4 Plug-ins for Vegas trail version. I don't own a 4k camera but I have some 4k clips from Sony AX100. I just tried them in Mercalli 4 plug-ins. It works fine. But so does the Sony Stabilizer (much faster than Mercalli too) I've been testing the Mercalli and found that for me there is not that great a difference between Sony Stabilizer and Mercalli. Mercalli is better but I'm not doing sports footage or really highly unstable stuff.
Right now ( I think until tomorrow, Feb 29th) you can buy the Mercalli 4 SAL+ version from SONY for $99.95 and then upgrade it to Mercalli 4 Suite to get the two plug-ins for $79 more. Otherwise the two plug-ins are $119.95 each .. I checked with Mercalli on this and they say that the upgrade to the Suite for $79 will work if you buy the Sony deal.
I dropped the Sony page deal into the CART and it was like $300. I guess the deal ended. I ONLY need a plugin for vegas that works on GH4 not the whole external suite
Assuming I have the Mercalli V4 plug-in and I stabilize a clip on the timeline, can I assume the Mercalli plug-in is no longer needed. In other words, I can remove Mercalli from my computer and the clip is still stabilized.
I've been burned with other plug-ins when I create effects or titles and find as I upgrade Vegas (V10, V11, etc.), that I need to have the plug-in installed and many times the old plug-in fails to work with new version of Vegas requiring me to upgrade Vegas and the plug-in. Worse yet, a compatibility update is not available or is extra $$$.
Obviously without a plug-in I can't make changes to the stabilized video, I just want to know that once stabilized and I am happy, that I no longer need Mercalli.
@Rich Parry - Only way to be sure, would be to render out that section and be done.
My thoughts? Merc needs to be re-done if I move-over, cut or alter any of the Event status. Until I'd rendered the Event the Merc results are volatile. Removing the plug would remove any of the effects of the results I'd have obtained.
