So far according to this forum and the Syntrillium forum (which is very good by the way),it appears that my best bet is to get a new motherboard that is compatible with my Mia sound card, (And Sound Forge 5.0f)to resolve the problem listed in my previous thread. I hope you tech minded people out there might steer me in the right direction on this as I can see a little knowledge on this subject is kind of dangerous for a rookie like myself. So, if anyone can suggest brands, models, retailers, good prices etc, then I am all ears. So the correct chip sets and size of motherboard so it fits in the case are important. Following are the Mia system requirements: -genuine Intel Pentium II/III or AMD athlon/Duron system (I have Windows 98 SE) -genuine Intel chipset of VIA KX-133, VIA KT-133, or AMD 760 chipset (Athlon/Duron) -64 Mb RAM more highly recommended (I now have 184 Mb of RAM) I would need the best bang for the buck. Thanx |

Me again. Just a suggestion... When you do get a suggestion for a mobo, before you buy, e-mail Echo with your suggested set-up and ask what they think. I actually did the reverse of what you're trying to do. Before I bought the Mia, I e-mailed Echo with my system specs and asked them if they saw any potential conflics. 850 T-Bird Athlon Chaintech 7AJA w/ Via KT-133 512Megs Ram 40 Gig 7200 rpm 20 Gig 7200 rpm Turtle Beach Montego Quadzilla (for midi and gaming) VooDoo 3 Keep in mind that I'm only a hobbyist as far as working with music, so I haven't pushed my set-up very much. Others might have similar and experienced clipping. Dfinitely, check with Echo before purchasing a different board though. ¢¢ |

Thanx MyST I think I will do just that. This time I am going to rely on the experts. (Now that I know who they are). I think I also will check with the Sound Forge techs. |
