Please i am trying to record an Md to Wav..
The problem is the Md was poorly recorded,Because of the volume.
The Md starts very low(volume) and then it starts going louder and louder until it lowers again.
How can i manage to (normalize)the Md so that when i record a cd from the Wav file this dont happens??
Do i have to stay monitoring the recording and lower the level of the volume control manualy as the music gets louder or quieter????
Doo sound forge 5.0 do this for me(i tried normalizing and dc adjust but none of them worked in my case)as i am recording with the sound forge????
Did you understood my problem??in the same big track the volume of the Md keeps changing from loud to quiet??its not passages its musics...
It was recorded by a dj in a party in my house,,Vinyl recording to the Md(analog way).
But the quality is impressive:) the only thing bad is that i cant set a constant volume for the whole track ,,until i find a prog that does this.

Thanks in Advance I am brazilian ,thats why my english is bad.. Arthur

Arthur: the simple thing you can do us to use dynamics (compression) first to reduce the louder sections, and then normalize. This probably isn't the best solution though. It will squeeze the loud parts and they may end up sounding unnaturally flat.

A better choice would be to use the graphic fade options. Select the entire recording (Ctrl-A) and select Process, Fade, Graphic. You will see a smaller window showing the entire recording. If you don't see the blue wave form, check the "Show wave" box. Select 200% for Maximum Gain. You can now adust the fade level line that runs across the window. Right-mouse-button-click on that line to add points. Left-mouse-button-drag on the points to move them up to increase volume, down to decrease volume, left or right for timing. You can then make the softer areas louder and the louder areas softer, with as gentle or rapid fades between as you need.

You'll probably have to try this a few times to get it just right. Make sure you leave the "Create Undo" box checked so you can undo if you need to.

(trying Babelfish.altavista.com to translate into Portuguese:)

(hmmm. dunno if that helped or not ;) )
