REMOTE BUTTON NOT WORKING

emmaddah wrote on 12/31/2015, 12:11 PM
Please, can somebody help me here? I am getting fed up with this software. I compiled a project and the Remote Button is not working at all on playback. I followed the help and in the properties window for the menu, I set everything to "On" and yet it is not working.

I would appreciate it any one can tell me why it is not working.

Thanks.

Does the navigation work in DVD Architect?

If you output a prepared file to your computer and open the VIDEO_TS folder with a program like VLC Media Player, can you activate the navigation buttons with the mouse?

If so, the problem might well be with your disc media or even your disc player's compatibility with home-burned discs rather than the program itself.

to emmaddah - Hard lesson here.

The functionality of set-top player's included remote control is configured by the company firmware. This may correspond to standards of the DVD/Blu-ray spec and again it MAY NOT!

The software you author with can set some variability in what remote functions can be activated/or deactivated. Your mileage will vary with your particular player, firmware, functionality enabled by the particular remote, etc. etc.etc.

Dear Steve,

Thanks for your concern and subsequent observation. I have just installed VLC Player and tested it. It is playing once I click a title with the mouse. Using the Arrow Buttons, the titles are highlighted, that is, it is also navigating. The only thing is that before it plays any file, it will show the address of the File at the bottom of the video for some seconds and then clears it off.

Thanks.

Dear VideoITGuy,

Thanks very much for your reply. I am going to get another DVD RW media and do the writing again.

Best regards.

Yes, VLC Media Player shows you the name of the file or folder it's playing for a few seconds. But this will not show up when you play the disc.

If the file name in VLC annoys you , you can turn it off. In VLC it's Tools/Preferences/Subtitles & OSD and untick the appropriate box.

...get another DVD RW media...

That could be your problem. Your player may not like RW media. You'll have better luck with -R.

Oh thanks. I thought it was an error message. I'll do that.

Dear Msmart,

Thanks. I have actually gotten another make of DVD-RW (Imation) but unfortunately, the problem still persists. I will try DVD-R then.

Best regards.

I have seen that the problem is from DVD Architect Studio because I used Other Software (iSkySofft and DVD Lab Pro 2) and they worked.

It does seem that your DVD player is the problem. But for your info -R was designed for computers, +R was introduced for better compatibility with DVD players. Most new players don't have a problem but may be worth a shot.....
